Space
Prior to Covid, there was a trend of “re-urbanization” where millennials and empty-nesters found themselves flocking to cities and accepting smaller living spaces in exchange for proximity to jobs, entertainment and nightlife. Because of the pandemic, this trend has actually reversed, with consumers moving back to the suburbs and “ex-urbs” and toward larger living spaces. This is facilitated by the explosion in remote working and learning, which creates its own space challenges. Rooms now have to be used for more than their primary purposes – they are classrooms, offices, exercise studios and entertainment centers. Products that help save space and that help transform space are in high demand.
