News Media credentials are given to working editorial news media only. Our registration qualifications have changed. Please review the following.

Who Qualifies for a News Media Badge?

Journalists in print, broadcast and digital media currently working for an established trade or consumer media outlet who regularly cover home or lifestyle-related content. This includes reporters, writers, editors, producers, photographers and camera crews. Freelancers, bloggers, and social media influencers are also eligible if they meet the below criteria.

Freelancers

Freelancers must have published or broadcast in the past year on topics related to the housewares and home goods industry. Please submit clips or links to published content with your byline as part of the badge registration process. If on assignment, include a detailed letter of assignment from an approved publication under official letterhead or via a company email account. We appreciate your tagging The Inspired Home Show and using Show hashtags on any social media activity related to the Show. (Social media handles and hashtags are listed below.)

Bloggers/Podcasters/Digital Media

Bloggers/podcasters/digital media professionals must have created new content within the past three months on topics related to the housewares and home goods industry (product giveaways and contests do not qualify). You may also be asked to provide evidence from a data-tracking service (such as Google Analytics) that shows unique visitors across blog or social media channels of at least 10,000 per month. In addition to tagging The Inspired Home Show, use of Show hashtags are required on all social media activity related to the Show. (Social media handles and hashtags are listed below.) Submissions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis based on relevance, quality, traffic, engagement, frequency of posts, etc. You should upload links to relevant content as part of the badge registration process. All criteria is taken into consideration for approval; unique visitor numbers and the number of followers on social media channels do not guarantee a badge if other criteria have not been met.

Social Media Influencers

Social media influencers must have created new content within the past three months on topics related to the housewares and home goods industry (product giveaways and contests do not qualify). You should upload links to posts, podcasts or video channels as part of the badge registration process. You may be asked to provide evidence from a data-tracking service (such as Google Analytics) that shows unique visitors across blog, website or social media channels are above 50,000 per month. In addition to tagging The Inspired Home Show, use of Show hashtags are required on all social media activity related to the Show. (Social media handles and hashtags are listed below.) All registrations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis based on content relevance and quality, unique visitor and follower counts, engagement on social media channels, frequency of posts, etc. All criteria is taken into consideration for approval; unique visitor numbers and the number of followers on social media channels do not guarantee a badge if other criteria have not been met.

Social Media Engagement

Social media influencers attending the Show are expected to use Show handles and hashtags in their Show coverage, but anyone with a news media badge is encouraged to share their attendance on social media. If you tag the Show and include our official hashtags, we would be happy to share your coverage with our community and amplify its reach through our website and social channels.

Who Does Not Qualify for a News Media Badge?

  • Friends and family of journalists. They should register for a Trade Guest badge.
  • Publishers, sales, marketing and advertising executives, and other non-editorial professionals. Please register under the appropriate Trade Guest classification.
  • Producers, editors or film crews for programs in which the exhibitor pays a fee to participate. Please register as Consumer or Trade Media (Sales and Marketing).
  • Film crews who are working for an exhibitor. Please have the exhibitor register you though the Exhibitor-Approved Contractor process.
  • Public relations professionals (agency or company based) writing for a news outlet, their company website or personal blog. Please register as Public Relations/Advertising Agencies.
  • Public relations, marketing or advertising professionals attending the Show to promote an exhibitor. If you are on staff with that exhibiting company, you should obtain an Exhibitor badge. If you are an outside consultant (working for a PR agency or independently), please register as Public Relations/Advertising Agencies.
  • Bloggers and social media influencers who only review products and offer product giveaways, contests or product couponing. Please register as Social Media – Operations and Marketing.
  • Bloggers and social media influencers who are sponsored by an exhibitor. Please have the exhibitor register you though the Exhibitor-Approved Contractor process.
  • Company presidents
  • Industry consultants
  • Writers for company newsletters and websites
  • Chefs or cookbook authors who are not working journalists

All badge approvals are at the discretion of IHA. We reserve the right to change your badge classification at any time. Please note that past registration as news media at The Inspired Home Show or other trade shows does not guarantee access for this or future events.
